Recent Training for AAHA

Last week, I had the opportunity to present a Board of Commissioners training for the Association of Alaska Housing Authorities. It was held at The Nave in Anchorage, which is a really cool converted church and community gathering space.

We had about 30 participants from across the state focus on Housing Policy, and the roles and responsibilities for the Board of Commissioners and Staff. We had a lot of great discussions over the two days of training.

It was also a challenging week across the State as close many people were evacuated to Bethel and Anchorage from villages in Western Alaska that were impacted by Typhoon Halong, and particularly the villages of Kipmuk and Kwigillingok which were hardest hit.
