Make the Trail to SNAIL!

I am excited to be speaking at my alma mater, the University of Oregon School of Law, at this upcoming summit. I’ll be speaking about my experience in Indian law and working with Indigenous Communities, Tribes and Tribal organizations. I’ll be joined by other alums and colleauges from the Indian Law Section Executive Committee. I am also excited to see friends and colleagues while I’m in Eugene. And I hope to catch the Oregon Women’s Lacrosse team home opener on Saturday morning.
Go Ducks! I hope to see you there!

Presented by Oregon Law’s chapter of the Native American Law Students Association (NALSA) and partners— including the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Center  Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP —the inaugural Summit for Northwest American Indian Law (SNAIL) will take place at the William W. Knight Law Center from 1:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

With the goal of convening Indian Law practitioners, community organizers and leaders, and law students to promote the study and practice of Indian Law while raising awareness of legal issues facing Indian Country, NALSA has selected Moving Beyond Acknowledgmentas the theme for SNAIL 2026. Through this theme, they hope to encourage current and future attorneys and advocates to move past acknowledgment—to meaningfully engage with decolonization through actions that speak louder than words.
